REVIVAL MONTH

Prayer & Fasting Guide

During Revival Month, we are setting ourselves apart to seek God together through prayer and fasting. Throughout Scripture, ordinary places became holy ground when God made His presence known there. Our prayer this month is that God would make holy ground of our hearts, our families, and our church—reviving our devotion to Him and awakening us to His presence.

01

HOLY GROUND IN OUR HEARTS

Lord, revive the fire on the altar of our hearts.

We are praying for a fresh move of God within us: renewed holiness, hunger for His presence, wholehearted worship, deeper prayer, repentance, and complete devotion to Jesus. May the fire of the Holy Spirit burn brightly in us; not only on Sundays, but every day.

02

HOLY GROUND IN OUR FAMILIES

Lord, establish our homes in Christ and His Church.

We are praying that our families would develop a strong spiritual identity and leave a legacy of faith. May men courageously provide spiritual leadership, mothers faithfully nurture the spiritual life of their homes, marriages grow strong, and children develop genuine, enduring faith in Jesus.

03

HOLY GROUND IN OUR CHURCH

Lord, ignite the fire of Your Spirit among us.

We are praying for renewed ministry, breakthrough, spiritual wisdom and revelation throughout our church. May people be saved, healed, restored, delivered and equipped; may spiritual gifts be discovered, developed and used; and may the presence and power of the Holy Spirit increasingly mark everything we do.

Declaration Prayer: At the end of this month, our prayer is not simply that we will know more about worship. We are asking God for revival. "Lord, make our hearts holy ground. Make our homes holy ground. Make our church holy ground. Revive us again."

WEEK ONE

DRAW NEAR

The God Who Draws Near

This week we remember one of the great truths of Scripture: God wants to be with His people. From Eden to the Tabernacle, from Jesus to the indwelling Holy Spirit, the story of the Bible is the story of God making a way for humanity to come near.

SCRIPTURE

Exodus 25:8 | “Have the people of Israel build me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them.”

Ephesians 2:13 | “But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.”

Hebrews 10:19, 22 | “We can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus... let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him.”

MEDITATE

For generations, God's people worshiped knowing there was a place they could not enter. The veil declared that God was holy and humanity was separated from Him by sin. But Jesus offered the final sacrifice, the veil was torn, and those who were far away have now been brought near.

Don't treat casually what Jesus paid so much to give you. You have access to the presence of God.

Today, don't merely pray toward God. Draw near.

PRAY

My Heart: Father, awaken my hunger for Your presence. Forgive me for becoming distracted, casual or satisfied with knowing about You when You have invited me to know You. Show me anything creating unnecessary distance between my heart and God, and give me courage to surrender it.

My Family: We want our home to be a place where Your presence is welcomed. Teach us to pray, worship, honor Your Word and seek You together.

My Church: Make Thrive Church a place where people genuinely encounter You. May everything we do make room for Your presence, Your voice and Your work.

Prayer for the Week: God, You have brought me near. Teach me to live aware of Your presence and to respond whenever You draw near.

WEEK TWO

KEEP THE FIRE BURNING

Becoming the Offering

God commanded that the fire on the Tabernacle altar must never go out. Under the New Covenant, Jesus has become our once-for-all sacrifice, and now we offer ourselves to God as living sacrifices, continually giving Him our worship, obedience and devotion.

SCRIPTURE

Leviticus 6:12–13 | “The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must never go out.”

Romans 12:1 | “Give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice... This is truly the way to worship him.”

Hebrews 13:15 | “Let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God.”

MEDITATE

Our culture often tells us that something is authentic only when we feel like doing it. Biblical worship begins somewhere deeper: God is worthy whether I feel like worshiping or not.

The fire on the altar had to be tended continually. In the same way, spiritual fire isn't maintained accidentally. Prayer, repentance, worship, Scripture, fasting and obedience continually place fresh wood on the altar.

Don't wait until Sunday to become a worshiper.

PRAY

My Heart: Holy Spirit, revive the fire of holiness and wholehearted devotion in me. Purify my motives, thoughts, habits and desires. Show me what I need to place on the altar. What am I withholding from You?

My Family: Ignite spiritual hunger in our home. Let our children see genuine faith lived consistently, not just practiced publicly.

My Church: Set our church on fire with genuine devotion to Jesus. Purify us from pride, distraction, disunity and compromise.

Prayer for the Week: Lord, my life belongs on Your altar. Fill me with Your Spirit, purify what I bring You, and keep the fire burning.

WEEK THREE

RESPOND

Because He Is Worthy

Biblical worship is never passive. God's people sing, shout, kneel, lift their hands, play instruments, rejoice, give thanks and offer themselves because the greatness of God deserves a wholehearted response.

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 95:1, 6 | “Come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully... Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker.”

Ephesians 5:18–19 | “Be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.”

Psalm 150:6 | “Let everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD!”

MEDITATE

Worship is not something happening on the stage while everyone else watches. Worship is something God's people do.

Scripture doesn't tell us to worship only in ways that come naturally to our personality. It teaches us appropriate responses to God's greatness. Sometimes worship is quiet awe; sometimes it is joyful noise. But Biblical worship engages the heart, mind, voice and body.

Expression isn't emotionalism. Expression is theology made visible.

PRAY

My Heart: Lord, stretch me beyond “however I'm comfortable.” Teach me to worship You according to Your worthiness. Free me from self-consciousness, passivity and fear of people. Teach my whole being to respond freely to Your greatness.

My Family: Let worship become normal in our home. May our children see us sing, pray, give thanks and openly express our love for Jesus.

My Church: Give us one voice and a fresh freedom in worship. Fill our sanctuary with genuine praise.

Prayer for the Week: Jesus, You are worthy of my whole heart, my whole voice and my whole life. Teach me to respond to You without reservation.

WEEK FOUR

WORSHIP TOGETHER

One People, One Spirit, One Voice

Worship is deeply personal, but it was never intended to remain private. God is building individual believers together into a spiritual house; a people who gather, pray, sing, serve, remember Jesus and declare His greatness with one voice.

SCRIPTURE

1 Peter 2:5 | “You are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple... you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God because of Jesus Christ.”

Psalm 34:3 | “Come, let us tell of the LORD’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.”

1 Corinthians 10:17 | “Though we are many, we all eat from one loaf of bread, showing that we are one body.”

MEDITATE

Christian worship is filled with words like we, us, together and one another.

God isn't merely collecting individual worshipers. He is forming a worshiping people. When the church gathers, our faith strengthens someone else's faith, our praise joins someone else's praise, and together we become a dwelling place for the Spirit of God.

We don't simply come to church to receive something. We come to bring something.

PRAY

My Heart: Deliver me from a consumer mindset toward church. Teach me to come prepared to worship,

serve, encourage and contribute.

My Family: Establish our family in Your house. Let belonging to Your Church become part of the spiritual

identity and legacy of our home.

My Church: Unite us around Jesus. Heal division, deepen relationships, activate spiritual gifts and make us a

strong, healthy body.

Prayer for the Week: Lord, build us together into a dwelling place for Your Spirit. Give Your Church one heart, one faith and one voice of worship. Pour out Your Spirit among us. Save, heal, restore, deliver and equip people as Your Church seeks You together.

WHY FAST?

Fasting is an important spiritual discipline. It helps us deny the demands of our body in order to place a greater focus on Jesus. Fasting has powerful spiritual effects: it humbles us and draws us closer to God, it promotes brokenness and repentance in the heart of the believer, it reveals deeper truths from the Word of God, ignites our prayer and creates a greater spiritual sensitivity. It can bring revival, break spiritual strongholds, and change lives.

WHAT IS FASTING?

Fasting is simply going without all or some foods for a specified length of time, while using the time and focus normally given to eating for Scripture reading, meditation and prayer. There are several fasts outlined in Scripture - typically believers will choose one of the following:

Traditional Fast

The most common type of fast is simply refraining from all food, drinking only water. (Acts 9:9) This fast is generally 1, 3 or 7 days, but may go much longer with proper preparation.
